Whimsical Los Angeles Wedding at The Ebell
One of the best parts about being a wedding photographer is getting to know my clients on a personal level. Capturing a couple’s wedding day - the romantic, joyous, loving moments - feels very intimate. I always like to recommend an engagement session whenever couples hire me for their wedding day. This is largely so that the couple can get used to being in front of the camera, and so that we can get to know each other before their wedding. Getting to know each other helps to calm the jitters down - especially for those who don’t feel super comfortable in front of the camera. Connecting with my clients before their wedding is something I love to do, so it feels particularly special when couples go out of their way to get to know me as well. Danielle and Steven did just that. We had an engagement photo shoot, and they were themselves right away. By the time their wedding day rolled around, we had already gotten to know each other well. It made the day even more easeful and enjoyable, and those sentiments really shine through their wedding photos! Check them out below.
Danielle and Steven tied the knot at The Ebell of Los Angeles. This women-centered nonprofit is located in a historic campus of the Mid-Wilshire section of Los Angeles. This historical venue was built in 1927, and offers both indoor and outdoor gathering spaces. I especially loved the black and white tiled floor, and the globe light fixtures above the ceremony space.
The wedding flowers, created by Dogwood Florals, brought so much brightness and whimsy to the space. I especially loved how they looked in combination with the green plants and trees dispersed throughout the area.
Their wedding part wore soft pink, with the exception of the Maid of Honor and Best Man, who wore a darker shade of pink. The soft colors added to the romance and whimsy of the day.
There were so many lovely details in their dinner table decor: Bohemian crystal cut wine glasses, tall tapered candles, gold and matte black flatware, light pink menus, and of course, romantic floral centerpieces. The crystal chandeliers overhead really put the icing on the cake.
