The Best Places to Elope in Arizona
Arizona is a breathtaking state with so many incredible points of interest - both natural and manmade. It offers a magical backdrop for couples looking to tie the knot in an intimate way. In this post, I’ll list all of my favorite elopement locations in Arizona - in Sedona, Flagstaff, Tucson, and the Phoenix/Scottsdale area. Whether you and your other half are drawn to desert, forests, canyons, or the city, Arizona has amazing elopement destinations for everyone. Let’s dive in!
Sedona: The Red Rocks
L'Auberge de Sedona: Located in the heart of Sedona, this luxury resort is the perfect place to escape and celebrate love. This resort features a collection of cottages, lodge-style guest rooms, and stand-alone five-bedroom houses. They’ve even got outdoor showers to bathe under the moonlight!
Enchantment Resort Sedona: This upscale resort is located in Boynton Canyon and is literally surrounded by red rock walls. This secluded resort has everything: stunning views, gorgeous pools, a relaxing spa, and grade A hospitality.
Crescent Moon Ranch: Red Rock Crossing, AKA the Crescent Moon Ranch, is an amazing place to stay in Sedona. This is a historic landmark situated just below the iconic Cathedral Rock. This natural point of interest has paved walking paths, green meadows, giant trees, and the gentle sounds of Oak Creek.
Lover's Knoll: This easy-to-access scenic viewpoint is the perfect place for a sunset elopement. It’s a panoramic vista featuring world class views of the red rocks. It’s the perfect place to exchange vows - its name couldn’t be more perfect.
Flagstaff: The Pines
Chapel of the Holy Dove: This charming A frame chapel is in the middle of the woods in the Coconino National Forest. This sweet Flagstaff chapel is a unique and memorable place to elope.
Edge of the World: This one requires some 90 minutes of low, bumpy, off-road driving, but it’s totally worth it! This is a picturesque vista overlooking a breathtaking canyon. This view is fitting for a once-in-a-lifetime event, like your wedding.
Buffalo Park: One of Flagstaff’s busiest and most-used parks, Buffalo Park is located on a beautiful mesa with gorgeous views of the San Francisco Peaks.
Aspen Corner: This relatively easy hike in the Coconino National Forest is situated on sloping meadows and shows unhindered views of the volcanic field to the West and the Grand Canyon to the North. In the fall, this location boasts spectacular golden leaves from the Aspens.
Arizona Nordic Village: This ski resort in Flagstaff doubles as a unique wedding venue. Between its outdoor venue, aspen and ponderosa forest, bridal suite, cabins, yurts, and campsites, it’s got everything you need for an intimate wedding or elopement.
Lockett Meadow: This campground offers a gorgeous view of the San Francisco Peaks as well as the aspen trees that surround the area.
Tucson: The Cactus
Saguaro National Park: Named after the giant cacti that inhabit the park, Saguaro is hard to beat when it comes to iconic American West scenery.
San Pedro Chapel: This historic chapel was built in 1932, and is on the National Register of Historic Places. It’s a charming, picturesque, unique place to exchange vows in Tucson.
DeGrazia Gallery in the Sun: This museum is an adobe gallery in the Sun Historic District. It’s home to permanent collections that feature Southwest art, as well as rotating exhibitions.
The Inn at JTH Tucson: This trendy, 7-bedroom inn borders the west side of Saguaro National Park. It features 38 acres of land, a forest of Saguaro cacti, and a ton of wildlife. The inn also features a rock canyon pool, hot spring style hot tub, yoga room, fire pit lounge, and more. Talk about a place that has everything for an elopement or intimate wedding.
Mount Lemmon: The highest pint in the Santa Catalina Mountains, Mount Lemmon is typically considered the monarch of this mountain range. It’s extremely picturesque and open year-round.
Phoenix & Scottsdale: The City
Phoenix City Hall: If you’re looking for a classic elopement setting, why not do it at City Hall? This historic building was built in 1929, and has lots of photo-worthy physical features.
SMoCA: The Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art is located in Old Town of Scottsdale. As you may have guessed, this museum features contemporary art, architecture and design.
Sonder The Monarch: This modern hotel located in downtown Scottsdale, features fun yellow and orange accents and lots of other contemporary design elements.
Boojum Tree Hidden Gardens: Considered one of the most unique wedding venues in Arizona, Boojum Tree Hidden Gardens was designed by an award-winning botanical designer. The lush and tropical garden makes for an amazing photo backdrop.
