Tucson Engagement Photo Session Captured on Film and Digital
Is there such thing as “soul clients”? Well, Jen and Alex are that for me. I had the honor of doing an engagement photo session with this lovely couple in Tucson, Arizona. With a blend of digital and film photography, I spent the day with Jen and Alex, capturing this moment in their journey together as future husband and wife. Although they both grew up in Tucson, they happened to meet while living in the Bay Area. Talk about fate! Now they're back in Tucson, where Jen is finishing her residency. When they're not busy with their daily lives, this adventurous duo loves hiking with their adorable pup, Kitsu. Their trips to Mt. Lemmon involve camping under the stars and exploring the terrain in search of mushrooms. With the help of Tucson's vibrant foraging community, Alex has become quite the expert in identifying edible fungi, transforming their harvests into delicious culinary creations. It was a blast capturing their shared passion for nature's wonders and delectable delights.
Jen and Alex really wanted their engagement photos to capture all their favorite things about Tucson, like a time capsule of their memories. This is something I always recommend to couples: having a date day and simply doing all the things you love to do together! So, we set out to create some awesome shots using both film and digital, that showcase their love for the city, and all its gorgeous natural surroundings. We snapped them enjoying their go-to treats - eegees, coffee, and beer, hiking and mushroom foraging, and just spending time in the awesome neighborhood of Barrio Viejo. When I look at these photos, I don’t see them as just pictures. These photos are a true reflection of their love for each other and the incredible experiences they've had in Tucson.
